Dr. Jonathan B. Stuart, D.A.O.M., L.Ac., is an acupuncturist and herbalist, licensed under the Texas Medical Board (AC01548) and certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Dr. Stuart obtained his Masters of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (M.A.O.M.) as well as his Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (D.A.O.M.), the highest accredited degree in the field of acupuncture and Chinese medicine, from the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He also has advanced clinical training at Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Tianjin, China. He has served as a Licensed Acupuncturist for Houston Methodist Hospital Wellness Services and a national Clean Needle Technique (CNT) test examiner as well as a clinical supervisor at the American College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. He is currently a faculty member, and professor at the same institution. Dr. Stuart takes a restorative approach to patient care emphasizing the interaction and balance between the nervous system and their environment, helping patients make necessary adjustments to counteract negative effects of daily physical, mental, and emotional stressors, and helping to understand those stressors that go unnoticed. His treatment spectrum includes stress, anxiety, pain, digestive issues, women’s health, and other health concerns, with a focus on promoting overall health and longevity. Dr. Stuart has a keen focus on orthopedic acupuncture, muscle mechanics, and sports medicine. He treats athletes from various sports, including running, weightlifting, swimming, cycling, among others, addressing both performance enhancement and rehabilitation needs. He also assists athletes in understanding and adjusting the impact of their training on their health, performance, and daily life. Dr. Stuart's current interests include traveling, camping and hiking with his wife and 3 young children. He is also an avid cook. You can find Dr. Stuart training and participating in the annual Houston Marathon as well as local supporting events.
